Spring Valley Baptist Church believes that missions is a command from our Lord given to His local churches to be adhered to until the end of the church age. (Matt. 28:18-20)

 

We believe the Holy Spirit calls missionaries through the ministry of the local church and equips them for the work God has prepared for them. Spring Valley believes the New Testament gives the responsibility of calling, ordaining, sending, and supporting missionaries exclusively through the local church.

 

Spring Valley Baptist Church follows the scriptural example of how to send out a missionary through the local church in Acts Chapter 13:1-5.  Therefore, we do not believe that mission boards, conventions, fellowships, clearinghouses or agencies of any sort are God’s ordained authority for sending missionaries, as these organizations are not presented in Scripture as substitutes for the local church.

 

We also support many missionaries financially from around the world through their local churches that they are a member of.        

                                 
We follow the biblical example on how to support missionaries sent out from other local churches.  (II Cor. 11:8-9; Phil. 4:10-18; II Tim. 1:16-18; 4:11-13; Titus 3:12-15)
